THE ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.
THE PERSON:
As a Leader in Systems Design Engineering, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software systems engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to ODM/OEM customers on effectively integrating AMD processors into networking and storage products and custom designs.
- Guidance consists of architecture reviews, schematic reviews, design-in support, and training customers on product features.
- Analyze, debug, and root cause issues found with AMD processor enabled platform and work with appropriate development teams to provide a solution.
- Train field sales and support staff in the features and uses of AMD products. Occasional international travel may be needed.
Preferred Experience:
- Expertise in hardware architecture, logic/circuit design and implementation.
- Hands-on experience in design and debugging HW issues on SoC and x86 platform.
- Experience with signal integrity and power delivery network.
- Familiarity with High-speed circuit testing (oscilloscope and JBERT usage).
- Experience with DDR4/5, LPDDR4/5, U/R/LR DIMM JEDEC standards, PCIe4/5, 1/2.5/10G Ethernet.
- Familiarity with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python, Perl, ...).
- Familiarity with Server OSes (Linux, Windows Server).
- Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions with the customer and internal teams.
Academic Credentials:
- Bachelor or Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related.
