THE ROLE:

AMD is searching for talented and motivated people to support our open-source, GPU-compute language runtime libraries of the AMD ROCm™ platform.

The Language runtime group in AMD AI GPU Software (AGS) builds the core compute language runtime that power artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications on workstations, data centers, and super computers.

THE PERSON:

You are accustomed to working in a dynamic, geographically distributed agile team, where partnership and collaboration are paramount.  You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to express your work in a clear, cohesive fashion.  You are results-oriented and accustomed to tight deadlines and changing priorities.  Most importantly, you are constantly thinking of ways to improve automate and streamline resource management and software development operations.  Duties include cluster management and system administration to support software development and continuous integration for geographically distributed software development teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with software development teams to improve workflows for server allocations, build process, and automations.
  • Support and automate software development workflows for continuous software quality improvements.
  • Develop integrations with continuous integration systems and code versioning platforms.
  • Develop and maintain DevOps pipelines for integration of software components in diverse environments.
  • Ability to design CI/CD flows, develop maintainable & extensible code/pipelines.
  • Work with and designing automation solutions that scale.
  • Troubleshoot, profile existing/new implementations for improvements.
  • Build and package software for Linux/Windows ecosystems.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Expertise with Coding/scripting in one or more Python, Groovy, Shell, Powershell.
  • Should be Familiar with Software Build process (Compilation of code with GNU Make, CMake, Visual Studio, MS Build etc.)
  • Proficient with container frameworks: Docker, Docker-compose.
  • Strong expertise in managing at least one of these ecosystems: Gerrit or Github or Github Enterprise.
  • Ability to administer tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional, collaborative environment.
  • Skill in communication both verbal and written.
  • Skill in process analysis and architecting improved processes.
  • Expertise in Windows packaging ecosystems in a plus.
  • Active participation in open-source projects is a definite plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

B.Sc. or B.Eng. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent.
