Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience in system software development (e.g., BIOS, BMC, Linux kernels, system libraries).
  
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
  
• Experience coding in C or C++.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in software/hardware integration, system bring-up, and diagnostics.
  
• Experience with open source development or Open Compute Projects (OCP).
  
• Experience in the BMC (e.g., AMI BMC or OpenBMC) development, machine management software development, or Linux kernel development.
  
• Experience in Python and scripting languages (e.g., Shell).
  
• Experience with Redfish and OpenBMC.
  
• Familiarity with the server x86 computer architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead, design, implement, and measure next generation reliable and high performance distributed machine monitoring and management software. Design messaging layers, implement C/C++ libraries, write system daemons, and participate in system design, analysis, and measurement. 
  
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to plan and execute the engineering programs, including product development and productivity improvement.
  
• Mentor the team by modeling high standards, providing feedback, and implementing practices to improve productivity.
  
• Contribute innovative ideas and skills to the team.
  
• Develop technical and product road maps and influence executive decisions. Define and implement the best known practices for multiple teams.
